Flood results in a flash
Flood and overland flow results in minutes, not months. Our modelling is powered by AI that has learned from tens of thousands of physics simulations, so we model your site properly and fast, and an RPEQ signs it off.
- AI-powered flood modelling, checked by a full 2D physics solver
- Latest Queensland Government LiDAR and BoM rainfall for your exact site
- Signed by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland for approvals
How it works
- 1Preview your site
Pick it on the map for a free first look at where water gathers, in about two minutes.
- 2Order the study
Choose a screening or an RPEQ-certified study and tell us about your site and plans.
- 3We model it
Our engineers model your site with AI-powered tools: fast exploration first, the design storms through the physics solver, and an engineer checks every result.
- 4Results, fast
Screenings in days, certified studies in weeks: maps, GIS files and a report, signed by an RPEQ for approvals.
Flood modelling that learned from physics
A detailed 2D flood study runs many storms over millions of cells, which is why it usually takes weeks. Flash powers its modelling with a GPU physics solver and a neural network trained on its results: the network answers in about a second, the physics checks it, and our engineers run the study and sign it off.
AI-powered flood modelling
A deep neural network trained on tens of thousands of full 2D flood simulations over real Queensland LiDAR and synthetic terrain. It predicts peak depth and speed for a storm in about a second on an ordinary computer: no GPU, no queue, no waiting weeks.
GPU 2D physics solver
The full shallow-water equations on graphics processors, dozens of storms at once: a well-balanced finite-volume scheme with proper wetting and drying. It trains and checks the AI, and runs the design storms of every certified study.
ARR 2019 ensemble engine
Every AEP, duration and temporal pattern the guidelines ask for, with pre-burst rain, losses and areal reduction; median of the patterns and the critical duration at every spot.
Live Australian data
Queensland Government LiDAR at 1 m, BoM design rainfall and the ARR Data Hub fetched for your exact site, with land use and soils for losses.
Hazard, impact and GIS outputs
ARR hazard classes H1 to H6, pre- and post-development flood impact, flood outlines and GeoTIFF grids ready for your GIS or CAD.
Drainage structures
Culverts, open channels, floodways, basins and pit and pipe networks to Austroads AGRD05, with blockage and climate change factors.
Benchmarked against the industry
Everything is modelled in-house on our own engines, and tested against the published 2D benchmark tests and established industry models.
Engineers in the loop
Every certified study is reviewed and signed by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.
Products
Flood results in minutes, not months, and a forecast service for what the weather will do to your sites.

Within 5 business days
For due diligence and early design: we model your site with its real land use and drainage, run the ARR design storms and an engineer checks and explains the result.
How it works
- Latest LiDAR terrain, land use, roughness, soils and rainfall losses for your site
- ARR 2019 ensemble across the AEPs and durations that matter for your decision
- AI-powered exploration of the site first, then physics runs to confirm the key storms
- An engineer reviews the results and writes up what they mean for you
What you get
- Flood depth, velocity and hazard (H1–H6) maps
- Where water enters, crosses and leaves the site
- Commentary on risk and options, in plain English
- A report you can share with buyers, lenders and designers
Good for: Buying land, feasibility, early design, lender and insurer questions.
Not certified for development or building approvals: upgrade to a certified study for those.

Typically 2–3 weeks
A full 2D flood study of your site and development, run through our GPU physics solver, reviewed and signed by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.
How it works
- Everything in the screening, plus the drainage that matters: culverts, channels, floodways, basins, pits and pipes
- Every AEP and duration your council asks for, with climate change scenarios
- Existing and developed site modelled and compared cell by cell for flood impact (afflux)
- Design runs on the physics solver; RPEQ review and sign-off
What you get
- Flood depth, level, velocity, hazard and critical duration maps
- Flood impact maps and adversely affected areas for your development
- GIS deliverables: GeoTIFF grids and flood outlines
- A report you can lodge with council, signed by an RPEQ
Good for: Development applications, building approvals, detailed design and expert advice.

Monthly subscription
A service, updated with every forecast
A subscription service for builders and civil contractors: for each of your sites, the next seven days of rain, how much of the site floods, and when the ground is workable again.
How it works
- Seven-day hourly forecast, including the Bureau of Meteorology's ACCESS model
- The past fortnight's rain sets how wet your ground is today
- A soil water balance for clay, loam or sand works out when it's dry enough for earthworks
- AI-powered flood mapping of the forecast's wettest burst over your site's LiDAR
What you get
- Your site's status now: stopped, too wet for earthworks, or workable
- When the next rain stoppage starts and when the ground is workable again
- Work hours lost over the next week
- A flood map of the worst forecast burst: where water will pond and flow
Good for: Scheduling earthworks, concrete pours, deliveries and crews; notifying delays early.
Indicative: typical soil properties and model weather. Use with site knowledge.
